In Loving Memory of Patsy Whitmire
Patsy Whitmire, 81 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2026. She was born on May 2, 1945, to Eunice and Charlie Thompson and she was the youngest of nine children.
Patsy was a devoted Christian whose faith in God was the foundation of her life. She lived each day with kindness, grace, and a servant’s heart, finding joy in caring for her family and sharing God’s love with those around her. Her greatest purpose was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she poured her heart into each of those roles.
She graduated Deweyville High school, where she was raised before meeting the love of her life, Bill Whitmire. The two shared 49 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion. Together they made their home in Vidor, Texas, where they raised their family and created countless cherished memories. As a homemaker, Patsy created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Patsy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved shopping, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured every gathering, every conversation, and every opportunity to make those she loved feel special. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and steadfast love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Whitmire, and her firstborn son, Baby Whitmire.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughter and son-in-law, Celina and Ray Satterwhite of Newton, Texas; her daughter, Debbie Burns of Vidor, Texas; her brothers, Gene Thompson of Deweyville and wife Beverly, and Jack Thompson of Shreveport and wife Glema; her grandchildren, Wayne Burns of Vidor, Texas; Josie and Cody Lambright of Splendora, Texas; Katie and Chris Riddick of Vidor, Texas; James and Ashley Burns of Vidor, Texas; and Jamie and Darby Aull of Vidor, Texas along with numerous treasured great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find peace in knowing that our Momma/Nanna is now reunited with our Dad/PawPaw and is resting in the presence of her Savior. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
A grave side service will be 10:00 am Saturday June 20, 2026 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, Texas.
