Brittain and Jessica Fee (Brad); many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and family.

Dustin was a RIVER RAT through and through. He could be seen most days on the river with
his dad or working around his camp. He spent his entire life cutting trees and pulling lumber off
the sawmill. He loved to cook and have people over to hang out at the shop. If you were at the
shop with him, you were probably enjoying some good music and a game of dominos or 2-card.
Dustin loved to hunt, fish and build new things. He taught his daughter, Layna, his love of chess
at a very young age and she was always battling someone for bragging rights. He was a
selfless man and often brought extras to family functions for a hot meal and a serious chat full of
his hard, but loving wisdom. His nephew, Zayne, is going to miss his “Hey, ya wanna go Uncle
D?”
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this difficult
time. Please continue to lift up the family in your prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made to assist the family with expenses.
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the
lives of others.” Dustin has woven something into all who knew him. Our lives are better

Conley Leon Todd, Jr. “Todd” a wonderful husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side. Just shy of 84 years old Todd lived a full life and was loved by so many.
Born on August 11, 1940, in Paris, Texas to the late Conley Leon Todd, Sr. and the late Alice Jane Hudson Todd. His family moved to Newton, Texas in 1945. He attended NISD schools where he was very active in all sports and extracurricular activities. He was also in the band and played the cornet. He attended and graduated from Lamar University in 1962 with a business degree. A member of the Alpha Taue Omega Fraternity, he was twice listed as Who’s Who in American Colleges.
Upon graduating from Lamar, Conley went to work for IBM in Beaumont, Tx. He married his high school sweetheart Tommy Gadelle McMahon on June 9, 1963, at First United Methodist Church, Newton, Tx. After a few years with IBM, he went into the banking industry. In 1968, he attended Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. He would spend the rest of his career as a bank officer or managing his own Financial Advisory company.
He built his family home in Beaumont, Texas. There he and Gadelle had two daughters. Meredith Lee Todd, born May 3, 1965, and Amy Gadelle Todd born, June18, 1967. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he worked and lived in Beaumont until his first retirement where he and his wife moved back to their hometown of Newton, Texas. Not long after, he went back to work at First Financial Bank as the Vice-president where he remained until his second retirement.
He was highly active in various civic organizations in Newton, Texas. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Todd knew the benefit of community service and how it impacted the citizens of Newton. Upon his passing, he served on the NISD School Board, The Newton Food Share Board, and the Newton Cemetery Board.
Conley loved to travel with his family and life-long friends in their RVs to State Parks around the U.S. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved cooking for all his fellow bank employees and friends in town. In his later years, cooking became more important than anything else he did. He was always proud to enter cook-off competitions with his friends. He was especially interested in Cajun style food. Another favorite dish was his famous “Road-Kill Stew” which most people in Newton have unfortunately tried at some point. There was no real roadkill, but you never knew what would be in the stew.
Todd is survived by his sister, Karla Todd Sherer of Newton, Texas, his wife Gadelle Todd of Newton, Texas, his daughter Meredith Todd Love and her husband Terry Love of Newton, Texas, his daughter Amy Todd Matter and her husband Kevin Matter of New Orleans, Louisianna, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many wonderful friends and other family members.
A celebratory visitation for Todd will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Newton United Methodist Church Green Building in Newton, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Newton Food Share or The Newton Cemetery Fund. Both entities can be found on social media and online.
